All SPX Roads Lead to The Same Place #SassyMusings 4/2/14
- And where do those roads lead? All time highs of course.
- Divergences, Shmivergences. We are back at all time highs! Woohoo
- Ok I’m exaggerating. Although we are at highs, it just doesn’t feel the same as it did last year does it? Well that is probably because there are a lot of laggards that aren’t going along for the ride.
- Yesterday when SPX was at a 20-day high, the percent of stocks also at 20-day highs was seriously lagging. I assume today is similar, but I don’t have the updated chart for that so here is yesterdays.
- Since everyone loves AAPL, here is a look at what yesterdays open interest looked like. Not wonderful, but not too shabby either. I will post an updated one tonight or tomorrow morning for you lovely peeps.
- Regardless of divergences and what not, there is still money to be made in this market if you are in the right places. Yesterday in my SassyMusings I wrote “The energy sector has been heating up, but not all energy stocks are participating so be selective with what you pick. I’m thinking the same might happen with financials.” Hopefully you caught some of those moves cause they were lovely.
- Tweet of the day: again no one made me laugh (although maybe it’s because I am so focused on doing well for my subscribers and keeping them informed that I didn’t get to the funny ones).
- Chart of the day: With all eyes on the DJIA potentially breaking out
- Speaking of that Dow theory. Last year the Dow was underperforming and there was controversy regarding if it was a sign that the market was topping (of course, last year everything was a sign of the market topping). Anyway, I wrote this piece Is Dow Theory the New MySpace. Although we are in the opposite situation now (questioning whether it brings the rest of the market higher) it’s still relevant.
- And finally, although it is only day three of my premium service I know your curiosity haunts you so I will say this: My subscribers and I have taken seven trades and are up on six (we already took profits on some and letting the rest ride). The seventh trade, which before making I prefaced with “risky, not suitable for the squeamish,” we are currently break-even on.
Have a good evening!
