A Whole Lot of Nothing Going on, but…#SassyMusings 8/12/14

But….I met

  • Josh Brown who is one of the nicest most dynamic men I have ever met and look forward to upcoming interactions with him. I got to meet Barry Ritholz for a second as well; a bonus to an already awesome experience. Screen Shot 2014-08-12 at 2.59.26 PM
  • Now regarding the markets today. Meh. They staged a small bounce in the morning only to drip lower the rest of the day (minus the usual last 20 min bounce/short covering). Even ICPT couldn’t hang onto it’s overnight gains.
  • One clue that today wouldn’t be a stellar bullish day was the relative pre-market underperformance of the IWM to SPX. Yes SPX has been leading for months, but as of this very recent sell-off the IWM has been unsuccessfully trying to set the stage for a decent bounce.
  • Breadth (advance/decline + up/down volume) was negative pretty much from the start of the day and momo’s couldn’t gain any traction.
  • Thus far, minus last Friday, we are experiencing  a very uninspiring bounce.

  • Regret of the day: Nothing related to the market so will leave it at that.
